Lily's Nursery

I always love nursery's with a creative theme, and I especially love themes based on children's books: Winnie the Pooh, Where the Wild Things Are, Harry Potter, and so many more!  This particular nursery was based on Eric Carle.  He has been a favorite author of mine since I wrote him a letter in the First Grade and he (hand) wrote me back a personal letter including a butterfly mobile.  An Eric Carle letter with a butterfly mobile?!  I couldn't have been a happier kid, and it pretty much guaranteed that I'd be a fan for life.

This nursery was like walking into a dream room from my childhood.  The white walls ensured that nothing clashed with the strong colors that make up Eric Carle's color palletes, and allowed for colorful decor on the walls.  Even the crib sheet went along with the theme by having primary colored polka dots on a white sheet.

Lily's older brothers were thrilled to be a part of the photo session.  Her oldest brother had made a butterfly out of tissue paper and kept waving it up and down in front of her face any time she even looked like she was about to start crying- talk about adorable!  I got to hear about how much they loved her as I got my camera ready and asked them questions about how life was with a little sister in the house.

At the end of the session the family snuggled up together to read "The Very Busy Spider" and "The Very Hungry Caterpillar", both book collection staples for Eric Carle fans of course!  The colorful room combined with the reading snuggles made this a perfect place to have a life style photo session with the newest member of their family.
