Work Flow for Your Baby’s Photoshoot

Baby Photographer in Saint Augustine, Florida

When you visit St. Augustine’s premier newborn photography studio you are getting an expert photographer who has a plan before you even step in the door!  I make sure my baby photo shoots run smoothly by writing out my work flow before hand so you can sit back and relax and enjoy the luxury experience that awaits you.

My plan starts with you as parents.  After you arrive we get you into your boutique gown and make sure baby is fed, changed, and wrapped.  We start with family poses first on one of my solid colored backdrops or life style type session on my studio bed.  We can use props such as boho palm fronds or keep it simple, classic, and timeless with crisp white bed blankets and clean background.  We do sibling poses after the entire family snuggles together, and then poses with dad.  Afterwards, your partner is asked to take any other siblings out to play or go to lunch so that mom can do her photos in a more relaxed atmosphere.  If there aren’t any siblings involved then dad/partner relax and shot encouraging compliments to mom during her time with baby.

After the family and sibling shots are finished we move onto wrapped poses in buckets or beds before moving to “table poses” These poses involve adorable boutique props, knit outfits, felted props like clouds and sheep, and unique wraps.  These are simple, timeless poses that make your baby look natural and comfortable.  If baby allows us, we finish up their newborn photo shoot with unwrapped bed poses using natural light from my large studio windows and typically include knit rompers and bonnets or hand sewn cloth rompers with night caps or hats.  Sometimes parents get so comfortable during my work flow they decide it’s time to curl up on my studio bed and take a nap!  No bigger compliment can be paid to a newborn baby photographer than a mom who feels safe enough to take a snooze while her baby is in my hands.
